Measurement of the
water footprint
Calculate and certify your water balance automatically, traceably, and in real time
Automate and simplify the entire water footprint certification process, saving time and resources while effectively achieving your sustainability goals. Find the solution your strategy needs to diagnose your efficiency and meet international standards year after year.
Problem
Companies face significant challenges in measuring and managing their actual water footprint and their supply chain's. These include the need to hire specialized teams, cover high operational costs for validation and certification, and repeat these processes annually, consuming time and resources significantly.
Solution
Our automated, traceable, and real-time water footprint tool overcomes these barriers by simplifying and automating the entire process - reducing costs, accelerating decision-making, and ensuring continuous compliance with global standards.
Additionally, the tool enables the integration of this valuable information into environmental risk analysis, the detection of inefficiencies, and the traceability of watershed replenishment projects.

How do we measure
water balance
We collect key operational data on how water is used at each stage of your value chain.
We digitize water inputs and outputs from your operations to ensure data accuracy.
We transform data based on international standards automatically, ensuring its validity, transparency, and regular updates.
We validate and certify your water footprint data through a third party automatically and in real time, ensuring transparency and reliability.

Frequently asked questions about water footprint measurement
What methodology is the water footprint based on?
The platform is capable of calculating the water footprint using the Water Footprint Network methodology. This methodology is one of the most widely used worldwide, as it provides data on the overall water footprint and its components (blue, green, and grey) associated with a process or product, according to the desired scope.
What data do I need to calculate my water footprint?
Only the digitization of meters and a schematic of the processes carried out in the plant/business/process are required. Additionally, we will request a meeting with the process managers to gather information about the practices and uses implemented in the plant.
Analog data may be provided as long as supporting evidence is submitted.
What are the benefits of using technology to account for my water footprint?
Firstly, the process is automated so that you will need fewer internal and external technicians to perform data tracking tasks. This reduces costs and increases operational efficiency related to traceability, calculation, and certification.
Secondly, it is fully traceable, so external certification is only required for one year. Once the technology is implemented, your water footprint will be certified in real-time every year.
Thirdly, the platform ensures the simplification of water sustainability reporting based on standards such as CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), VWBA (Volumetric Water Benefit Accounting), Water Footprint Network (WFN), AWS (Alliance for Water Stewardship), among others.
Finally, it allows you to identify your water footprint as well as potential losses or inefficiencies, helping you implement corrective actions, reduce your water footprint, and enhance your sustainability positioning.
Who certifies the water footprint measurement?
The water footprint is certified by an external organization, Bureau Veritas, an internationally recognized entity known for its auditing and sustainability certification processes.
