This month, Pablo and Antonella, co-founders of Agrow, participated in The Future of Food & Beverage event in Amsterdam, where the major transitions affecting the supply chains of food and beverage companies were discussed. Among them, one stood out as a priority: regenerative agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What was most interesting wasn\u2019t just confirming its relevance, but seeing how this evolving approach raises as many questions as it does certainties. Amid metrics, sustainability commitments, and supply chain challenges, one key question emerged: what role does water play in regenerative agriculture?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udca7 What role does water play in regenerative agriculture?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Although many corporate definitions of regenerative agriculture focus on soil health, carbon, and biodiversity, water is clearly part of the vision. In fact, 11 of the 18 companies analyzed in the study \"Navigating Regenerative Agriculture in Corporate Climate Strategies\" by the New Climate Institute include water use improvement in their definitions of regenerative agriculture.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Healthy soil requires balanced moisture to sustain biological activity; greater biodiversity demands functional habitats supported by water; and climate resilience largely depends on how we manage such a vital resource. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another clear idea that resonated at the event: no one can design regenerative agriculture practices alone. <\/strong>By definition, regenerative agriculture is a co-creation practice involving multiple actors: <\/strong>food companies, farmers, tech firms, researchers, and local communities. The definitions are not yet finalized, and this opens a unique opportunity to align incentives and build shared value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
